Operations Technology Professional

What year did you start working for McDonald’s and the Walla Organization?

2004

What led you to your current career at McDonald’s?

I started working for McDonald’s in high school because my parents stopped paying for my insurance and gas. I went around and applied at all the fast-food places and asked how much their starting wage was. At the time, minimum wage was $5.15 and most of the places hired at minimum wage. However, when I applied at McDonald’s, they offered $6.00, and I could work the nights I wanted. After a few months of working there I made new friends that I still talk to regularly. After high school I worked my way up to swing manager and was beginning to see how successful the salary team was and decided I wanted to do what they did. I was promoted to 2nd assistant and eventually promoted to my current position of Operations Technology Professional.

What is your current position and responsibility?

My currently position is Operations Technology Professional. I’m responsible for keeping all the technology in the stores up and running. That includes replacing old tech and doing upgrades to the systems.

Why do you work at McDonald’s?

I work at McDonald’s because it is a fun, fast-paced job and I enjoy the people I work with.

What is it like working for the Walla Organization?

Working for the Walla Organization is amazing. They treat their employees like family rather than employees, and are always willing to go the extra mile to keep employees wanting to come to work.

What is your go-to meal at McDonald’s?

Right now my go to meal is the crispy chicken sandwich (add cheese and bacon) with a small fry and a large water.

How does your career at McDonald’s support your life outside of work?

My current position is amazing because outside of work I enjoy tinkering with computers and staying up-to-date on technology.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy building computers, fishing, golfing, and playing basketball.
